Interior Elevations:

  • Interior elevations provide a view of walls and cabinets as seen from a frontal perspective.

The interior elevation will show the following:

  • Wall and cabinet type elevations: These elevations will display the types of cabinets, such as drawer cabinets, double or single door cabinets, tall cabinets, upper cabinets, or special cabinets. The dimensions from the finished floor to the top of the countertop, as well as the mounted heights for switches, telephone, and electrical outlets, will be indicated.

  • Special cabinets refer to those manufactured by specific companies with particular dimensions that must be adhered to.

  • Equipment, whether existing or new, must be evaluated under four conditions:

    • Existing cabinets and equipment that will remain in place require no action.

    • For existing cabinets with new equipment, the new equipment and its clearances must be ordered to fit within the existing cabinets.

    • For new cabinets with existing equipment, the cabinet dimensions should accommodate the equipment dimensions and clearances.

    • For new cabinets and new equipment, coordination between the cabinets and equipment by the contractor is straightforward.

    • In all conditions, the dimensions of the equipment and its clearances must be provided to the contractor, who will adjust the cabinet sizes accordingly.

  • Cabinet detail tags provide the design specifications and dimensions necessary for the millwork subcontractor to fabricate the cabinets accurately.
