CONSTRUCTION PLAN CONSTRUCTION KEY NOTE LEGEND & SYMBOLS

CONSTRUCTION WORK:

The construction phase is crucial, as the plans depicted in the drawings will be realized in the actual build. Any errors in these plans can result in long-term consequences for the homeowner or incur additional costs for rectification. Typically, construction work is detailed in the construction plan and construction key notes.

The construction plan may include interior elevations, sections, details, finish plans, equipment plans, and ceiling plans if required. The construction drawings will illustrate the following:

Construction Plan:

• Existing items that will remain and new work such as new walls, doors, windows, casework, plumbing fixtures, equipment, base board and electrical outlets, switches & phone jacks and light fixtures. existing items shall be shaded in grey to stand out.

• Interior elevation tags and construction key notes.

• Legend and symbols schedule.

• Dimensions of the new item for size and location.

• The design consultant shall ask to contractor to submit description of the new construction work for review. In this description the contractor will explain what work he will do in details and the consultant shall ask him to add any additional work that is not clear.
